According to participants of the Ukrainian market of rapeseed, reduction of the oilseed harvest in 2012 will not become a disaster for them. Taking into account the fact that the volume of rapeseed

processing in the country are rather low, processors of the oilseed reported that they do not expect for any significantly increase of competition on the market due to the decrease of its general production.

According to purchasers of the oilseed, next season they will work with those volumes, which will come on the market. Several market participants said that they intend to increase purchasing volumes of soybean and sunflower to maintain the trade turnover.

As a reminder, according to the study realized by experts of APK-Inform Agency, the general share of losses of winter rapeseed sowings in Ukraine may exceed the level of 35%.

Also, operators of the market focus attention on the fact that rapeseed production volumes will be lower compared to last year, due to reduction of the sowing areas. Thus, according to the State Statistics Service, in 2011 the sowing areas under winter rapeseed totaled 961.6 thsd ha against 1082.1 thsd ha in 2010.

At the same time, to date it is impossible to show the specific indices of winter rapeseed harvest before determining of the share of germination and development of the oilseed growing.www.apk-inform.com/en/news
