According to the market participants of the Southern and Volga regions of Russia, dry weather, the well-established in the last month, has a negative impact on the grain crops.
As of May 1, 2012 spring crops in the agricultural organizations of the Russian Federation were planted throughout 7.2 million hectares (up 44.4% compared with the corresponding date last year), including cereals and legumes (excluding maize) - throughout 4.1 million hectares (up 48.4%).
The farmers have started sowing spring crops in the main grain-producing regions of Kazakhstan, said the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Asylzhan Mamytbekov, on May 15 at a government meeting.
